Surgery Trip

Emory Medishare is a branch of Project Medishare, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Emory Medishare sends teams of medical workers to Thomonde in the Central Plateau of Haiti to assist Medishare’s local medical staff to set up clinics in the surrounding villages, train local healthcare workers, and assist in the improvement of the healthcare infrastructure.

Surgical Trips

The Emory Medishare Surgery trip has been travelling to Hinche, Haiti, since 2008 to provide life-altering operations for those who are typically without access to surgical care.  Teams of medical students, nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists from Emory have not only worked to deliver care to the most indigent in the western hemisphere, but have worked with local partners to build surgical infrastructure, educate, and perform global health research.  Support of this endeavor is appreciated more than you can know.

- Jahnavi Srinivasan, MD, FACS, Associate Professor of Surgery

One of the most rewarding aspects of these trips is the immediate results seen. The 2015 surgical trip occurred in June and marked another successful trip with general surgery and urology procedures.
